In the beginning of Parshat Va’etchanan, Moshe earnestly prays to G-d to allow him to enter the Land of Israel. Unfortunately, this is the only time that G-d is not receptive to Moshe’s prayers. What does this say about the nature of prayer and G-d? In response to these questions, Rabbi Meir Schweiger examines a number of passages from the Talmud that grapple with these issues. They provide us with insights that are just as relevant to us today as they were in previous generations.
