Through a teaching of R. Menachem Mendel of Vitebsk (a Hasidic Rebbe who led a pre-Zionist Hasidic Aliyah to Israel) on this week’s parsha, Rabbi James Jacobson-Maisels will explore the nature of transformation and how true transformation requires a dying to who we were so that we can be reborn again anew.

James grew up outside Hershey, PA and in Bloomfield Hills, MI. He is adjunct faculty of Jewish Thought and Mysticism and Jewish Spiritual Practices and Meditation at the Pardes Institute of Jewish Studies in Jerusalem, and also teaches at Yeshivat Hadar in New York City at Haifa University and at the Hannaton Educational and Spiritual Center in the Galilee.
