In the first half of this week’s parsha, the Jewish people complete the organization of their camp and tie together all of the “loose ends” in preparation for their entry into the Land of Israel. But as soon as they begin their triumphal march, everything seems to come unglued. What went wrong? In this week’s parsha podcast, Rabbi Meir Schweiger examines a number of parallels between Beha’alotecha and the Garden of Eden story, and he explores the reasons for the difficulties people have with ideal realities and their tendency to lose them.

Meir teaches Chumash, Parshat HaShavua, Mishna, Talmud, Halakha, Siddur and Interpersonal Relations at Pardes. Meir came on aliya in 1972 from “the Bronx”, NY, immediately after graduating from City College in New York with a B.A. in Mathematics and Physics. He did his advanced Jewish Studies at Yeshiva University, Yeshivat Kerem B’Yavneh and Yeshivat Har Etzion, receiving ordination from Rabbi Zalman Nehemiah Goldberg of Jerusalem.
