5779 – Passover Edition: “Eat it on this Night”- The Passover Sacrifice and the Timing of Redemption

Posted by Rahel Berkovits on April 14, 2019
Topics: Torah, Pardes from Jerusalem, Vayikra (Leviticus), Pesach

The Passover sacrifice is so essential to the original experience of Passover and yet now in the modern day we might feel very disconnected from it. Can studying a rabbinic dispute about the time of eating the sacrifice add to our understanding of the Passover experience and redemption in our day? A comparison of three different views presented in the Midrashei Halakha will examine the Rabbis views on the link between Divine and human action in both the Passover story and the oral law in general.
