Rosh Hashana: A New Year Song

Posted by PCJE Alumni on October 5, 2016
Topics: Holidays, Rosh Hashana

This Rosh Hashana video, created by Pardes Educators Elana Perlin (PEP Cohort 14) and Max Einsohn (PEEP Cohort 3), can be utilized in a variety of ways to enhance your students’ High Holiday learning. Use the video to model a summative assessment in which students demonstrate the most meaningful pieces of their holiday study by rewriting lyrics of a popular song on the topic. Make it an introductory hook for a discussion about the underlying reasons for celebrating Rosh Hashana. See how many different Rosh Hashana themes and traditions your students can identify in the song.
