Executive Seminar Summer 2017: Is Israel a Holy Land

Posted by Elliott Malamet on July 4, 2017
Topics: ELS, Pardes Live and Mini-Series

What is the sanctity of the Land of Israel? Is it inherently holy—every inch of dirt—or does its `holiness’ depend on what kind of life Jews live there? How is the argument about holiness connected to Jewish claims to Israel (in other words, what is its political function)? We will explore these and other questions in reviewing the relationship between sanctity and sovereignty. This session was given by Dr. Elliott Malamet as part of the Pardes Executive Learning Seminar, Summer 2017.
