#MeToo — The Courage to Respond Ethically

Class Title – #MeToo — The Courage to Respond Ethically

Class taught by Meesh Hammer-Kossoy

Class description: Women are uniting against sexual harassment in the workplace. The courageous exposure of perpetrators has led to the improvement of women’s power. And in some cases, the movement has been accused of “canceling” men and punishing them disproportionately. With its high bar for witnesses and proof, Jewish law might seem to call for a more moderate response. What are Talmudic precedents for responding boldly? And what can these sources teach us about how to do so ethically as well?
