In this week’s Podcast, Rabbi Daniel Landes discusses Rosh Hashana and Hallel. As we greet a year with great trails and challenges, we ask the following question. Rosh Hashana is a festival and therefore should be joyous. Why then don’t we recite the joyous Hallel?

Zvi Yehudah Kook, and with the Chief Rabbi R. Avrum Shapiro. In New York he studied with the Rav, Rabbi Joseph B. Soloveitchik; and in Los Angeles with the Av Beit Din R. Shmuel Katz (on whose rabbinical court he served).
