Hanukah – A Time To Act For God

Posted by Mike Feuer on December 7, 2015
Topics: Hanukah

The turning point in the Maccabean revolt against the Greeks was their decision to fight even on Shabbat. Matityahua and his sons saw that it was a time to act for Gd by violating the Torah. What are the roots of such a notion, and how can they inform our relationship to Gd, Torah and Am Yisrael today?

This is Rabbi Mike Feuer’s annual Hanukah class in honor the yartzheit of his father, Charles Feuer. As is his custom he pushed the edge of comfortable thought in the ongoing quest to uncover the hidden light of Hanukah.

Thanks to Sulam Yaakov Sounds where this class first appeared.
