5781 — Noach: To Meat or Not To Meat

Posted by Mike Feuer on October 20, 2020
Topics: Pardes from Jerusalem, Bereishit (Genesis), Bereishit, Torah, Noach

There are many points of connection between the story of creation and the story of the flood, and at least one significant difference. The permission given to Noach and his descendants to eat meat is the opening of a new chapter in the relationship between humanity and the rest of creation. This podcast explores Rav Kook’s perspective on why it was granted, what happened to the original Edenic ideal and what the messianic future may hold.
