Below you will find an inspiring master class – “The Next Decade: Moving the Vision Forward” – given by renowned Pardes educator Rabbi Zvi Hirschfield on what it takes to make an excellent Jewish Studies teacher. This class served as the plenary session of the Pardes Educators Alumni Support Project Retreat in March 2012.
Outlining the following five practical guidelines and deeply rooted in classical Jewish text, R. Zvi Hirschfield explores the character of Moshe as a model of the consummate Torah teacher and offers thoughts on how to emulate the Jewish people’s greatest educator:
- Torah and Text: Why the Jewish Bookcase Should Be at the Center of the Room
- Klal Yisrael: Why We Have to Include Even the Ones We Don’t Like
- If I Am Not for Myself: The Unique Teacher Is Essential
- We Get By with a Little Help from Our Friends: Partners and Colleagues
- Tzipia L’Yeshua: Optimism for the Future
We hope you enjoy this special opportunity!
