Israel seems to be the people of one – one people, one Temple, one God. Twelve tribes? Ever since the brothers sold Joseph into slavery it seems that the tribal element has brought nothing but strife to our story. Nevertheless, this class will explore the particular quality which the tribes add to the covenant and consider what it may have to offer to our fragmented world today.
