The Jews have a tradition that God always readies a new refuge before destruction comes on the old. This class looks at the early basis of Jewish life in Poland and the shift to their lives in Germany brought on by the Protestant Reformation. When we add to this the advent of the printing press we have a look at the foundations of the early modern era.
